Re: program restart

he there,

hum I know I looked into this some time ago for a co-worker who had the same question, I just for the life of me can't remember the answer (I do recall it was not as bad as it looks).

Could you check your nagios.log and see what is logged there around one of the mentioned timestamps?

I'll see if I can find the e-mail I wrote my co-worker on this subject.

regards,

Alan

Re: program restart

This is a very old thread, what version of Opsview are you running?

Re: program restart

Dear All,

we have exactly the same problem. We are running 2 different OpsView instances, both updated to the latest version and both have the same problem when checking availability report.

Can anyone suggest a solution for it?

regards

Re: program restart

Hi all,

As this is core there is no official support for the product I am afraid - however I will see if this is a known issue or not.

In the meantime:

A) Is this purely a cosmetic bug - i.e. you dont like it being in the availability report, or is it making the Opsview system unusable?

B) Is there anything in the logs around the same time as this event happening (opsview.log)?

Sam

If you require a supported product, then let me know and i can have an account manager reach out to you.

Re: program restart

Quick answer - this is just a notification message that is logged by Opsview whenever a 'reload' is initiated (Settings > Apply Changes).

Hope this helps,

Sam

Re: program restart

Hi Sam,

thank you for your answer. If you look at example below, it doesn't seem to be just "reload" action message. (I pasted picture here but it doesn't show)

there is an entry at

2013-12-04 15:42:46 2013-12-04 15:42:46 0d 0h 0m 0s PROGRAM (RE)START Program restart

and

2013-12-04 15:42:46 2013-12-05 00:00:00 0d 8h 17m 14s PROGRAM (RE)START Program start

then nothing till

2013-12-05 00:00:00 2013-12-06 00:00:00 1d 0h 0m 0s HOST UP (HARD) OK - 10.23.10.5: rta 44.313ms, lost 20%

There seem to be 8h 17m 14s gap where there is no avaiability information available. However if I look at a graph I can see that all data for that host is there so it points me to that report showing things incorrectly.

Our problem is that customer we have is not happy with availabilty report and claims that service was not available during "gap" time

Re: program restart

Hello,

If you are supporting customers you really should look at a supported version of Opsview - not only for peace of mind for support issues like this, but also for the reports module which allows much better reports than the 'legacy availability report' this thread refers to.

Best,

Sam

Re: program restart

Hi Sam,

We are still in a test phase and if we can't sort problems like this one or get an explanation why is it reported that way we can't put this product into production.

So if there is an explanation why that report shows data that way I would appriciate it

regards,

Anthony
