New host not visible

Hi,

I've tried adding a host to an existing installation.

I copied the host definition and changed the name, but not the IP().

When restarting there are no errors, but the host won't show up in the web view, however, it is present in status.dat.

The reason I copied the host definition without changing the IP is the following:
I want to be able to monitor a certain service on a cluster-level(check_cluster) but the underlying services give a critical on one of the nodes, even though the cluster service will return OK.
I want to remove the single-instance service checks from the host, but I need them for the cluster, so I was trying to move them to the host-duplicate, which isn't visible...

Any help welcome.

For a host to be visible in

For a host to be visible in the monitoring section it must have a service assigned to it.  I would suggest using 'Network - Base' as a host template which just contains a ping check.

It has a service assigned to it. when I run '/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg'

it returns

Total Warnings: 0

When there is no service attached, it gives a warning.

Are there any errors in /var

Are there any errors in /var/og/opsview/opsviewd.log and can you check if import_ndologsd and import_ndoconfigend are running?

Also, are there any files in /usr/local/nagios/var/ndologs

searching for it returns nothing either.
Still not visible in web.
I wonder if it is possible to check the bare nagios view, but can't figure out how to do that?

As the nagios user can you run /usr/local/nagios/bin/ndoutils_configdumpend without seeing any errors?

If this script exists on your system, can you run it as well?
