Separating alerts on the same host

Hi,

I have 2 servers in the same Hosts Group.

On each of them I have a service that monitors Drice C: Space.

What I'd like to do is receive notifications for myself from the first server and for our alerting system from the second server.

How can this be done using Opsview?

Thanks

Re: Separating alerts on the same host

Hi,

You can setup Keywords (Settings > Keywords) - one for each "C:/ + Host" combination - then just have a notification profile per keyword.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have another question if you dont mind.

What's the equivelent of "Service Template" in Opsview?

I have a rather large number of services I must tweak for better active checks timings.

Thanks

Re: Separating alerts on the same host

Hi,

No problem. RE: 'Service template', not sure i follow. Opsview has service checks, hosts and then host templates (just a group of services you can then apply over and over).

Are you saying you want to edit the 'check interval' etc on a large group of checks / set the default?

Best,

Sam

Yes!

Exactly that!

Max checks\Retry interval etc.

Hi again,

Is this solveable?

It'd save me a great deal of time.

Thanks

Re: Separating alerts on the same host

Hi,

Sorry - i started looking at this and got distracted! So to change items on a system-wide setting, you need to look at 'opsview.defaults' (/usr/local/nagios/etc/opsview.defaults) and find the line you want to edit.

Then, copy this value into opsview.conf (this is the file where you add your custom overrides, for example) - so in your case, add:

# Default values for servicechecks $service_check_interval=5; $service_max_check_attempts=3; $service_retry_interval=1; $service_flap_detection=1; # on   To opsview.conf (/usr/local/nagios/etc/opsview.conf) and then edit them as you please.   Best, Sam

Re: Separating alerts on the same host

Thanks for getting back to me.

As far as I understand the solution you proposed is for Default Values only.

However, I need 2 different sets of timings.

This will only change the values for newly created hosts\checks - correct me if I'm wrong.
