OVA brand new installtion and Please wait. Opsview is starting. forever ?

I am new and kind of disappointed by that product. All is I needed for testing and replacing current PRTG installation but this is something I have not expected.

I have followed this https://knowledge.opsview.com/docs/vmware-virtual-appliance

if they know OVA is messed up they should not offer it as a download. It causes only confusion - any clue?

All our images do undergo

All our images do undergo testing and are proven as working before we release them to the public.  The images are in a partially configured state so on first boot they complete the configuration, which includes generating unique passwords (so no two installations use the same credentials, which vastly improves security).

We do, however, occasionally see issues where the image configuration may be changed on a host at import time (we try to use the most obvious or common configurations to suit most people) and we welcome feedback to improve our images to prevent issues occuring where we got this wrong.

If the first boot process has failed (and you are still interested in trying out the product) you should be able to log in and, as root, run:

rm /opt/opsview/ansible/.init-done && /opt/opsview/ansible/bin/opsview-init

which will reinitialise the first boot process.  When the process completes the UI should then be available.
