New installation - opsview-web execution failed

Hi,

I have a problem trying to install opsview on a new Centos machine. The result of opsview-monit summary as follow

The Monit daemon 5.14 uptime: 14m

Process 'opsview-web'               Execution failed

Sorry I can't post the full result or the spam filter will be triggered. Anyone have the same issue or know how to fix this ? Is there any log that I can check the reason of failure ?

Thanks.

Can you look within /var/log

Can you look within /var/log/opsview/opsview-web.log and see if there are any errors

Also, you can start this manually by switching to the nagios user and running

opsvsiew-web restart

to see if that produces any errors on the command line.

When you installed the packages and ran the postinstall_root command (as per the docs and installation output) did you have any errors then?

Hi dferguson,

Hi dferguson,

Thanks for your help. I looked at the /var/log/opsview/opsview-web.log and it's empty.

Do you know the location of the file opsview-web ? I cannot run it. Also  the postinstall_root command, where can I find it ?

Hi dferguson, thanks for

Hi dferguson, thanks for helping.

I looked at /var/log/opsview/opsview-web.log but it's empty.

Where can I find opsview-web to run ? I have a feeling it hasn't been installed. But the installation process was OK without any error. I tried re-install twice, same problem.

Do you have a link to postinstall_root command ? I cannot find the command as well.

Thanks dferguson. I followed the post install process, turns out that the machine was lack of ram so not all processes were started. Simply modify swap file fix the issue.

Using 'top', how much RAM and

Using 'top', how much RAM and/or swap is being used?  Do you have any "out of memory" OOM Killer messages in dmesg or syslog?

When watching 'ps -ef| grep starman' are the processes constantly changing?
