Upgraded iOS app and rebuilt Android apps out now!

Hello,

Just a quick note to say we've launched an upgrade to our iOS app and a newly rebuilt Android app!

The iOS has an updated look and numerous fixes and upgrades. The Android app has been completely rebuilt with much more functionality than it had previously. Android now supports push notifications, has a new interface using tab functionality, graphing and events views to allow you see more information and allows your to submit more commands to your Opsview system such as rechecking hosts/services, acknowledging problems, adding downtime and removing downtime.

A lot of the new functionlity added to both apps were added due to feedback on this forum, so please keep posting here to let us know your thoughts and to suggest ways to improve the applications.

Invalid Login

Hi,

Just upgraded my Opsview Mobile app on iOS 7 and now I'am getting an "Invalid login" error.

And I see this in my opsview-web.log :

[2014/08/05 14:34:30] [Opsview.Web.ControllerBase.REST] [INFO] REST response (ERROR=401): GET /rest/info Data:{ message => "Token invalid" }

We are using the latest Opsview Core on an Ubunt 12.04 LTS server.

It's still working fine with the previous app on my collegue iPhone.

Could you tell me what's wrong ?

Thanks.

Invalid Login

I forgot the second line in my opsview-we.log file :

[2014/08/05 14:34:30] [Opsview.Web.Controller.REST] [INFO] REST authenticate error: Token invalid. Username: '', Token: ''
[2014/08/05 14:34:30] [Opsview.Web.ControllerBase.REST] [INFO] REST response (ERROR=401): GET /rest/info Data:{ message => "Token invalid" }

Sorry for the double post.

Invalid Login

Hi there,

Try clearning the application from resent memory, this should force it to recieve a new token from Opsview if the previous token was stored and is now invalid.

Other than that I would double check that the credentials are correct by logging into the Opsview system and also checking what the apache & opsview web logs are recieving the request as.

I've already tried to

I've already tried to uninstall / reinstall the app, restarted the phone and double checked the credentials.

But the log file shows like no username/token have been sent to the server, no ?

[Opsview.Web.Controller.REST] [INFO] REST authenticate error: Token invalid. Username: '', Token: ''

We are currently seeing a few users not being able to connect because their /rest.

Thanks

Ok, I've found the issue : We use specials characters like $, !, %, etc in our password.

I removed them from our password and now it's working fine.

But it's still an issue cause we were able to use special characters.

Could you please correct this issue, please ?

Thanks.

Regards.

Hi,

Hi,

We are investigating at the moment but yeah, its looking like an issue with how the iOS app is handling special characters which is very odd, as like you said it worked fine on the previous version. I'll update this post soon with news.

Best,

Sam

I'm having the same problem

I'm having the same problem too on iOS.  It seems ot be related to the /rest URI.  Same error as above:

[2014/08/05 13:51:09] [Opsview.Web.Controller.REST] [INFO] REST authenticate error: Token invalid. Username: '', Token: ''

[2014/08/05 13:51:09] [Opsview.Web.ControllerBase.REST] [INFO] REST response (ERROR=401): GET /rest/status/viewport Data:{ message => "Token invalid" }

Login Error

I get a Login Error "Username or password incorrect undefined" when trying to login to the new Android app. This is before I get to the part where you enter the server details. I reset my password and triple checked my credentials are correct.

I'm using Opsview Monitor Atom Edition 5.3.0

Need Clarification

Amazingly, Opsview is a great technology. I have a question, is ops view has an API? And, how it can support any mobile development company for managing their app development business in an effective way.

Yes, Opsview Monitor has an

Yes, Opsview Monitor has an API which is documented at https://knowledge.opsview.com/reference

The API is included in the product as this is what our UI uses to get all the info.

We also have our own mobile apps (look in your app store).
