Push Notifications for Android

Hello,

I have followed the instructions to setup push notifications for the Opsview Android app.  I have registered an account on opsview.com and entered those details into the app, it complains that the user name and password is invalid and I must have an account on opsview.com to use this service so I left it overnight.  I have also updated the Push Notifications for IOS Mobile on my opsview server with the same opsview.com user name, password and our proxy server.  This morning the same error is reported but then I get stuck in a loop accepting  untrusted certificates from push.opsview.com until it crashes my phone?

Can anybody help please?  I originally setup to use PagerDuty but it did not seem to work well with keyword only alerting and would rather use something which was developed by the guys who know Opsview?

Thanks.

Gary.

Used PushOver Instead

Resolved this using PushOver app for Android and helpful information at http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/51238-opsview-notifications-... instead.  Shame that I will only use the Opsview Android app for investigating issues further rather then it's full feature set.

Hi Gary,

Hi Gary,

Have a little patience :) I have passed this onto the developer who can have a look into it for you.

Best,

Sam

Hi Gary, Lets start from the

Hi Gary,

Lets start from the top, what is username for opsview.com (The same one you are using here I assume) and what are you typing into the push settings on the phone. From here I can check what our push servers has recieved and what our systems think your username is.

Also for the notification method you want to use "Push Notifications for Android Mobile " not iOS, if you want to use android push notifications that is.

Can you also let me know what your device details are, (what model, what make, what android version) and if the opporotunity arises can you send a bug report from your phone, this will allow us to see whats happening with the push cert issue.

Thanks for your time,
Joe

Hello,

Hello,

I currently have a simular issue. I have placed my username "jesse.hart@doculynx.com" and my password in my mobile android app. I am using a samsung note 3. I am running android version 4.4.2 I am also using the most up to date version of the opsview mobile app I updated it today.

My opsview system is Opsview Pro 50 4.5.3

I place my username and password in the notification method and it is the same username and passwod I used to log into this forum.

Inside the app it tells me that my username or password is incorrect. I have retyped it multiple times with no luck.

Any help is very much appricated.

Hi

Hi Jessie

You are using your email as your username which is not correct.

I've looking on our systems and your username is the following: jesse.hart

This is an easy mistake to make since opsview.com will allow you to log in with your username or your email address however push currently only supports username authentication.

Let me know if this works,

Thanks

Joe

Your username for use with our Opsview app is 'vondes' - I am not aware 'Mobile Recorder 24' has been set up for use with the Opsview API
