Opsview Monitor 5.3 Includes New Opspacks, InfluxDB Integration And More

We are pleased to announce the release of Opsview Monitor 5.3. With new Opspacks, InfluxDB integration, Runtime Database Partitioning and other UI/performance enhancements, Opsview Monitor 5.3 helps drive innovation by enabling customers to quickly begin monitoring new technologies and ensuring service uptime. The key highlights of this new release are described below. They are now available for all users of Opsview Monitor Enterprise, MSP, Pro and Atom Editions.  

New Opspacks

Opsview continues to grow its comprehensive list of supported technologies, allowing IT teams to help bolster innovation within their companies. Highly popular MongoDB, Varnish Cache and HAProxy have been added to the Opspack Marketplace and all three are now included as standard capabilities in Opsview Monitor 5.3. 

With MongoDB delivering scalable performance when running the most critical applications, Varnish Cache’s flexible capabilities as a HTTP accelerator and HAProxy being an industry standard open-source load balancer, Opsview Monitor 5.3 contains all the important service checks for these widely-used technologies to make sure these services are always up and running.

InfluxDB Integration

Opsview Monitor 5.3 now fully integrates with InfluxDB’s open-source time series database, allowing customers to capture more granular data over a longer period of time, enabling improved analytics. The addition of InfluxDB also helps IT teams collect and store detailed performance data that can be used to make more informed decisions. 

InfluxDB is written in Go and optimized for fast, high-availability storage and retrieval of time series fields such as: 

  • Operations monitoring
  • Application metrics
  • IoT (Internet of Things) sensor data
  • Real-time analytics

Runtime Database Partitioning

Opsview Monitor 5.3 has now added Runtime Database Partitioning, delivering a key performance enhancement in this release. Partitioning the runtime database substantially reduces the amount of time needed for a daily database cleanup, enabling you to complete tasks in minutes instead of hours. This is especially useful for larger IT environments that generate substantial amounts of data, optimizing resources and improving efficiency. 

UI and Performance Enhancements

As part of Opsview’s mission to provide users with the best possible monitoring solution, there are numerous UI and performance improvements in Opsview Monitor 5.3 including:

  • Improved dashboards – a wide range of improvements to dashboard dashlets throughout Opsview Monitor; highlighting not only Opsview’s commitment to functionality, but also the visualization and representation of data for greater user experience
  • Increased dashboard performance, showing improvements of up to a 40% reduction in processing time 
  • Incorporation of numerous changes resulting from detailed user feedback that delivers improved user efficiency
