Opsview Goes to Ireland
Last month’s Opsview Meetup in Dublin combined great conversation with ample amounts of Guinness and food – and no one went home early! Despite the sporadic blizzards and the Luas workers strike, Opsview’s finest successfully made it to Ireland for our first Dublin Meetup. Customers (existing and future), coders, developers, managers and more all came to share stories, watch demos, explore ideas, learn a few tips and tricks, and hear about Opsview’s plans.
A real standout of the event was the presentation by Barry Noonan, Head of IT Infrastructure & Engineering at Hostelworld, a worldwide hostel company representing over 33,000 properties across 170 countries. He shared his Opsview experience, speaking about both Hostelworld’s business and their monitoring strategy. This included the common misconception of hostels being dirty, insecure and only for students, which he dispelled by showing some great examples of some fantastic hostels which they represent around the world. Regarding monitoring, Barry spoke passionately about “monitoring everything” to ensure an end-to-end view of his IT infrastructure, what’s next for Hostelworld and why Opsview is the monitoring solution for him.
Runner-up honors go to Rob May, Opsview’s VP of Engineering, and Neil Ferguson, Opsview’s Director of Customer Success, who both provided a complete overview of Opsview’s strategy, future developments and the new capabilities of Opsview Monitor. They then spent the rest of the night listening to and exploring ideas from all of the existing users, washing down the monitoring tales with a Guinness or craft beer or two.
James Malone, VP of Sales here at Opsview, hosted the event. He said “The Dublin meet-up was a fantastic event for everyone who attended. As well as learning more about Opsview’s latest capabilities, it gave the attendees a chance to meet their peers in the industry, swap stories, share experiences and build valuable local professional connections.”
A massive thank you to J.W. Sweetman for providing a great venue, and to everyone who joined us for what was a hugely successful evening. Same time next year?
