Network Connectivity Monitoring Opspack

This Opspack checks basic network connectivity using icmp (ping).

What You Can Monitor

Opsview contains many different options for Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) checks including:

  • Specifying number of packets to send
  • Number of alive hosts required for success
  • Specifying a source IP address or device name
  • Timeout and TTL on ongoing packets

Connectivity - LAN Checks that network interface is responding to ICMP echo requests

Network Connectivity Monitoring Setup and Configuration

To configure and utilize this Opspack, you simply need to add the 'Network - Base' Opspack to your Opsview system.

Step 1: Add the Host Template

Add the Network - Base Host Template to your Opsview host.

Step 2: Apply changes and the system will now be monitored
