Oracle WebLogic Monitoring Tools

WebLogic Server is an application server developed by Oracle. The WebLogic Server infrastructure supports the deployment of many types of distributed applications and the implementation of Java EE 5.0 specification provides a standard set of APIs for creating distributed Java applications that can access a wide variety of services.

What You Can Monitor

Opsview Monitor contains all the performance metrics needed to monitor and keep your Weblogic host online. Critical metrics are monitored and alerted on to keep you aware of App sessions, cluster servers, JDBC capacity and more.

Service Checks

Service Check Description
App sessions Checks the weblogic application session count.
Cluster servers Checks the number of cluster servers - either active or total.
JDBC capacity Checks the current or maximum capacity of a JDBC connection pool.
JDBC connections Checks the number of active connections in a JDBC connection pool, or the number of waiters.
JMS queue length Checks the length (current messages) of a particular JMS queue by name.
Server memory utilisation Checks the JVM heap free memory.
Server status Checks to ensure server status is RUNNING.

Prerequisites

Ensure your Opsview Monitor version is at least 6.6.7. Check Opsview Release Notes for the latest version of Opsview Monitor.

Oracle WebLogic Monitoring Tools Setup and Configuration

To configure and utilize this Opspack, you simply need to add the 'Application - WebLogic' Opspack to your Opsview Monitor system.

Step 1: Add the Host Template

Add the Application - WebLogic Host Template to your Opsview Monitor host.

Step 2: Configure SNMP settings for this host

Add WebLogic Variables

Step 3: Apply changes and the system will now be monitored
