OpenStack - Glance

OpenStack- Glance Opspack Overview

OpenStack is an open source software platform for cloud computing and mostly deployed as an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS).  The main initiative of OpenStack is to create and manage large groups of virtual private servers in a data center via web-based dashboards, command-line tools, or a RESTful API. OpenStack supports compatibility between cloud services and enable businesses to build Amazon-like cloud services in their own data centers. Freely available under the Apache 2.0 license, OpenStack is commonly labeled as the “Linux of the Cloud".

What You Can Monitor

It can be easy to end up with a lot of images within Glance, but Opsview Monitor’s Glance Opspack helps you create an overall view for Glance images you have created. The Glance Opspack provides alerts through its ‘all images’ performance counter, and then tracks the activity of your critical images to ensure they remain active. It also collects a list of the current number of images along with the overall status of each image.

Checks

AllImages: Glance collects all image names

ImageStatus: Glance gets the status of a specific image
