check_nrpe

Hey forum!

i just setuped a new OpsviewCore (centos6.4_x64).

Now i'am getting problems with the "Disk Queue" ServiceCheck. It uses the NRPE Plugin and the command is:

-H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c nsc_checkcounter -a 'MaxCrit=12 MaxWarn=6 "Counter=\PhysicalDisk(0 C:)\Avg. Disk Read Queue Length"'

I allways getting:

$ /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H MYMACHINENAME -c nsc_checkcounter -a 'MaxCrit=12 MaxWarn=6 "Counter=\PhysicalDisk(0 C:)\Avg. Disk Read Queue Length"' RETURN CODE: 2 (CRITICAL) OUTPUT: CRIT: Counter not found: \PhysicalDisk(0 C:)\Avg. Disk Read Queue Length: Das angegebene Objekt wurde nicht im System gefunden. (C0000BB8) in my opsview results. The opsview-agent.log has similar lines: 2013-06-24 11:10:57: error:modules\CheckSystem\CheckSystem.cpp:1082: ERROR: Counter not found: \PhysicalDisk(0 C:)\Avg. Disk Read Queue Length: Das angegebene Objekt wurde nicht im System gefunden.   (C0000BB8) Does anyone has this problem, too? Or any hint how to fix this? Thank you!

Re: check_nrpe

Best i can recommend is running " TypePerf.exe -q" on your Windows machine and make sure that its a valid counter.

Re: check_nrpe

Whats with "\Physikalischer Datentr„ger(*)\Durchschnittl. Warteschlangenl„nge der Datentr„ger-Lesevorg„nge". Does opsview support "ä, ö, ü"?

€dit:

It seems not.

-H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c nsc_checkcounter -a '"\Physikalischer Datenträger(*)\Durchschnittl. Warteschlangenläžnge der Datenträger-Lesevorgänge" MaxWarn=6 MaxCrit=12 ShowAll'

becomes

-H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c nsc_checkcounter -a '"\Physikalischer Datenträger(*)\Durchschnittl. Warteschlangenläžnge der Datenträger-Lesevorgänge" MaxWarn=6 MaxCrit=12 ShowAll'

Any ideas?

Re: check_nrpe

So for me it seems to be a problem with german language. The german wiki of nagios told me to change the counters to english, but that can't be the only way to fix this (http://www.nagios-wiki.de/nagios/plugins/check_nt#umlaute_bei_check_nt). I really don't want to change x servers-registries.

So, there is no other way to handle it?

Re: check_nrpe

I suspect not. It sounds like an issue with the special characters (umlauts, etc) that Nagios cant handle. Good luck with your configuration - i hope that other users can help you here!
