Help with Specific changes to migrate_nagios

I have Opsview Pro 14-day trial installed

I did try working with opsviewcore as well but wanted to check the deatures out in core.

Now, what i wish to achieve is migrate all nagios hosts/checks to opsview

for now I do not need notifications options at all since nagios is taking care of this and I just want opsview to retrieve the checks and display the results.

I have copied the files namely the files in nagios/etc/* and also some custom checks into the nagios/libexec folder

when i try to run the migrate tool (as described inhttp://docs.opsview.com/doku.php?id=opsview-community:migrating:nagios) and use the objects.cache file I receive the below error

ib/perl5/Nagios/Object.pm line 858, <GEN0> line 153858.
Use of uninitialized value $value in pattern match (m//) at /opt/opsview/perl/lib/perl5/Nagios/Object.pm line 858, <GEN0> line 154559.

No related object for notificationmethods 'name=aql'

i understand this noptification method might not be defined in my nagios config

How and what should I comment out in the migrate_nagios script to exclude migration of "notification options"

all i would need migrated would be the hosts and checks in order to display them

Please advise

Re: Help with Specific changes to migrate_nagios

just wanted to add

before running the migration tool I copied the custom scripts

do i need to copy the hosts.cfg, checkcommands.cfg and all these files in nagios/etc/ or will this be done using the migration tool ?

please advise

Re: Help with Specific changes to migrate_nagios

he there,

I just had a quick look at the script and I also noticed there's a debug option, so could you try running it at a more verbose level.

Personally I've never used the migration tool as I wanted a fresh start (most things where setup incorrectly in nagios so this gave me the chance to immediatly correct that).

You might be able to circumvent the error by modifying some of the mapping hashes but no garantees..

It is not necesarry to copy those files as Opsview will generate then during the gen_config/reload.

hope this helps,

Alan
