Opsview Community Edition 3.7.2 Released!
We are pleased to announce the release of Opsview Community edition 3.7.2.
New features
- Query Host functionality extended to include errors and discards with warning and critical alerts based on rate.
- 'SNMP Polling' service checks now provide an option to compute rate. Supported intervals are one second, one minute and one hour
Enhancements
- Up to 75% performance improvement when inserting service checks into the Runtime database
- Updated Host Interfaces page, with errors/discards graph
- SNMP Polling service check allows setting of performance data label (note, this will lose history)
- SNMP Polling service check allows alerting on "string not equal"
- check_http plugin now displays string, hostname and URL when string check fails
- Updated Nagios Plugins to 1.4.15 release candidate
Bug fixes
- Fixed bug where notification_interval is 0 but was set to a different value in the generated Nagios configuration
- Fixed bug in import_excel where host check command was ignored, and added monitored_by field
- Fixed bug where additional languages were listed incorrect
- Fixed bug in RSS feed on Solaris 10
- Add in SNMPv3 privacy password option to check_snmp_sysinfo (thanks to Rafael Carneiro)
- Fixed bug where you could not delete a host where it has an snmpwalkcache in the database. Also affects host comments
- Fixed "Show Macro Help" text for host attributes
- Fixed check_snmp_linkstatus for Windows servers, which sometimes includes \0 characters
- Fixed command parsing and usage on check_snmp_runningproc
- Fixed check_snmp_runningproc extension processing (thanks to Killian Faughnan)
- Fixed check_ifstatus not accepting version=2c (Brian Landers)
Notices
- check_http -o is deprecated as this is the default output from the plugin in a "search string failure" mode
- The arguments for the Interface service check will be converted by the upgrade script due to new errors/discards functionality
- There will be an error in the upgrade script if the Interface service check has been renamed
- There will be an error in the upgrade script if there already are service checks called "Errors" or "Discards"
- Upgrades may take some time due to index changes to runtime.nagios_servicechecks table. You can mitigate this by deleting old data first: DELETE FROM nagios_servicechecks WHERE start_time <= (NOW() - INTERVAL 1 DAY). If you are upgrading from Opsview 3.7.0 (which had the housekeeping bug), you should run the above DELETE, otherwise there will be a lot of data to convert. As a rough estimate, about 700,000 rows takes about 5 minutes to convert
