Qamar Aziz is an experienced entrepreneur and investor who has been actively involved with over 20 early stage technology companies from pre-funding stage to exit. He is mentor and strategic advisor both operationally and at board level for all his investee companies. He gained broader financial and technology portfolio management experience working as a venture partner for Accel Partners in their European office and as a limited partner with three technology venture funds. He currently runs his own portfolio with investments in a number of technology companies. Qamar's past and present projects include Opsview, Salesseek, Wily, Whereonearth, Volantis, DeCarta, ServerDensity, Traackr, OnDisplay, Illustra and Sybase. Qamar maintains strong links with the venture capital and entrepreneurial community in Silicon Valley. Qamar’s early career included roles as a software engineer, technical project manager and various sales roles at Sybase.
Mike founded Opsview and has over 25 years of software and consulting experience, including founding three other technology companies. His passion is in developing a vision, defining the strategy and then building a team and strong company culture to deliver business success.
Mike has worked in many industry sectors, with particular emphasis on the financial services sector during the five years he lived in the US. On his return to the UK, he founded and was the C.E.O. of Rubus, a venture-backed technology consultancy, growing the company to over 300 employees in five locations in Europe.
Mike's experience in building teams and attracting high-calibre employees means his companies have a highly respected reputation with clients, together with a dynamic and rewarding company culture. He started his career working in sales and sales management at ICL and Oracle, before co-founding Viant - a venture-backed, Silicon Valley internet services company. Mike’s companies have been recognized with numerous awards including the Ernst & Young UK Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year, CBI's Most Promising Company and regional and national Deloitte Fast 50 awards. Mike holds a Joint Honours BSc in Physics and Electronics from Brunel University.
As VP Sales and Marketing, James Malone is responsible for driving the rapid expansion of Opsview globally, managing clients and developing our brand. James has over 20 years enterprise IT sales experience, with over ten of those selling Systems Management software for CA/Nimsoft, IBM and Micromuse.
James joined Opsview from Nimsoft where, as VP Sales, he was responsible for all of Nimsoft's field sales, inside sales and technical teams across Europe. He previously worked at Micromuse, where he specialised in managing Service Provider accounts across Northern Europe and was UK Sales Manager during the company’s acquisition by IBM Tivoli. He subsequently joined the Tivoli UK management team running the Commercial & Industrial Business group and then was promoted to run the Industrial Sector for the entire IBM Software group.
James started his career at Texas Instruments, working in the UK, France and Germany. James holds a BSc in Industrial Systems and Business Management from the University of Westminster, London.
Lynda is responsible for all of Opview's financial and operational activities. Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1992, she has spent the last 15 years working with high growth technology companies. In 1998 she set up her own practice providing accountancy, taxation and general business advice, in addition to fully outsourcing the finance function for several high growth companies. Lynda joined Opsview in 2008.
Rob is responsible for our product engineering function and for the performance of all services to customers, including managing Opsview's Customer Success team globally. He has more than 15 years’ experience in IT consulting and project management. Prior to joining Opsview, Rob was Head of IT at Detica, a technology consultancy specialising in information intelligence with 1600 staff and revenues of +£200m. Prior to Detica, Rob was a Senior Project Manager at Rubus responsible for the successful delivery of complex, high value Internet-enabled solutions to corporate customers. Rob holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southampton, is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner and Certified ScrumMaster.
Peter is responsible for all of Opsview’s HR & Recruitment activities. Peter joined Opsview in 2008 from Ernst & Young, where he worked on resourcing and coordination projects for large, strategic accounts. Prior to E&Y, Peter worked with Reed Managed Services on various projects, recruiting specialist technical staff for the technology and airline sectors. Peter completed his Bachelor of Business Degree with French at GMIT in Ireland and is a CIPD qualified practioner.
